MXGP Goggle lane

Post by Holeshot » Thu Apr 25, 2019 9:57 am

Apparently from this year in mxgp there is a new "goggle lane". Where riders go specifically to change goggles. From next season it will be a rule that if any riders toss their goggles they will have to pull in on the next lap to change them. They are starting this year with the lane but not enforcing the rule to get everyone used to it I suppose.

If they'd had that rule at the des nations the Netherlands would probably of won! I guess anything that improves safety is a good thing in principal.
Hopefully it'll make the goggle manufacturers come up with some new ideas for mud conditions, there's a lot of time to be gained if you don't have to come in and change your goggles! :geek:

Saw a few people using the goggle lane on the weekend and heard a couple of interviews on the mxvice podcast where the riders said they liked it so I think it's a pretty good idea.
